Our first Sussex Spaniel was Ch Sunfire Where T Heckawi (Sam) – bred by P Grutzner from Victoria, Australia. With his delightful sense of humour and his cheeky Sussex smile, Sam soon persuaded us that one Sussex Spaniel is not enough. Sam came to us in 2007 and, from his debut appearance in the show ring where he won Best Baby in the Gundog Group, he has been consistently successful including winning RUBIG at an all-breeds championship show at the tender age of 14 months. In 2008, he was Australia’s Top Sussex (Dogs Online Point Score) and South Australia’s Top Sussex (Gundog Club of South Australia). Sam was also Best Rarer Gundog Spaniel at the 2008 Adelaide Royal Show.

Sam is the sire of the first Shevington litter of Sussex Spaniels.
